This book is the result of thousands of hours of badger watching by the two authors. Mr. A.L.V. Middleton, a Veterinary Surgeon, is the Recorder of the British Mammal Society for Humberside and North Yorkshire (previously for the East Riding). Dr. R.J. Paget, a Medical Practitioner, is similarly the British Mammal Society's Recorder for South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire (previously for the West Riding). Their first-hand systematic observations and photographs are supplemented by an equally authoritative chapter on the diet of badgers, based on scientific analysis by Mr. K. Bradbury, of the Department of Pathology, University of Leeds.
