This book draws together what is known about the biology of otters in a straightforward and readily understood way. It distills the large ammount of research which has been carried out on various species of otters, notably the eurasian otter, the American river otter and sea otters. It also draws extensively on the author's personal experience of field research on otters. It covers: ecology, diet, competition, movements, social organisation, scent communication, breeding and mortality, their structure and appearance etc.
